About us

The word SEDUCA means two things.  First, as a noun, it stands for Serving EDUCAtors; which is our primary goal, namely, to serve educators in church and theological institutions in order to become pedagogically more competent and multiculturally more sensitive in their teaching ministry. Second, as a verb, it represents the contraction of two Spanish words, SE EDUCA, which means we educate. In this manner, we want to emphasize the communal and dialogical nature of the act of educating, namely, the act of mutual teaching and learning to bring about change.  Thus, the word SEDUCA expresses our goal and efforts to serve educators through an approach of working together, of teaching to and learning from each other, as we aim at becoming better equipped to teach and bring about the change church and society call for in relation to living in a multicultural, multiethnic, and multi-religious world.
